NON-EXEMPT
REGULAR: FULL-TIME

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm


DUTIES:

  • Performs health-related tasks such as vital signs, basic in-house labs, and other duties as assigned by clinical staff.
  • Perform venipunctures and collect blood samples from patients
  • Completes paperwork such as recording vital signs and filling out lab requisitions
  • Label vials with patient names and dates
  • Assist medical provider as directed
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and testing to patients following appropriate procedures
  • Initiate prescriptions for provider review and refill
  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure adequate inventory is in stock.
  • Assists the nurse or mid-level practitioner with minor office procedures, examinations, education, and referrals.
  • Room and prepare patients prior to their medical provider's visit and/or treatment
  • Review and manage patient medical concerns and document information in the patient chart for provider review as necessary
  • Processes lab specimens and sterilizes equipment.
  • Responsible for all components of the registration process.
  • Promote understanding of migrant lifestyle and culture to staff and community.
  • Performs duties essential to the position and program.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Initial by duties you are able to perform)

  • In an eight-hour workday, the employee must be able to: bend and crouch occasionally, sit continuously and stand or walk frequently.
  • The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • The employee must be able to use hands/arms, feet/legs for repetitive fine to large motor skill movements.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current MN Nursing License or Certificate
  • Good communication skills are required (English and Spanish).
  • Time Management Skills
  • Team Centered Approach
  • Experience working in a health care setting is helpful.
  • Current CPR cert Knowledge and experience with chronic disease patients preferred
  • EMR or EHR experience also preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of socio-economic and health problems of migrant
